Have you ever heard of follies? They are buildings constructed solely for decoration, often found in gardens or on large estates. They can be pagodas, ruins, tents, pyramids, or architectural wonders and can be made of materials ranging from thatch to marble.
Follies have been around for centuries, and some common elements include fantasy, humor, trickery and above all, retreat. With no practical purpose other than a unique an unusual design, they are built purely for pleasure–to be an oasis.
