I designed a conceptual boutique hotel in Silicon Valley around the work of Piero Fornasetti, Italian artist and designer.
An exhibit, entitled “La Folie Pratique” just concluded at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs June 14, 2015. The exhibit featured around 13,000 works of art that Fornasetti drew, painted, and designed from the 1920s up until the time of his death (1913-1988). His most recognizable work is the face of a woman, operatic soprano, Lina Cavalieri of which he made over 500 variations of her face. When asked why he did so many, he said he didn’t know–he just began to make them and never stopped.
