Colonial Halloween Dinner Party
We had so much fun at our Colonial Halloween Dinner Party. For inspiration, I used the Legend of Sleepy Hollow story by Washington Irving and tried to have the tablescape primitive and simple using items they might have used during Colonial times when the story takes place–a simple centerpiece of a pumpkin with some branches we gathered from outside; pewter silverware, drinking cups and candlesticks. The only true splurge was the skeleton plates (to reinforce The Legend of Sleepy Hollow theme–“heads will roll.”) We dimmed the lights while we ate our dinner by candlelight and had a very enjoyable evening.
