Currier and Ives Christmas
Since Christmas card season is upon us, I thought it would be fun to post about some of the original Christmas card makers. Currier and Ives was a New York firm who produced popular lithographs in the 19th Century. Their nostalgic and sentimental prints are still produced on china, calendars, and cards. Their Winter scenes were especially popular and favorites for the season. A Currier and Ives Christmas is always classic.
Currier and Ives set the standard for holiday cards, but holiday cards have evolved since the 19th Century. You can still find Winter scenes on cards, but most people use family photos. Regardless of what you choose to put on your cards, everyone can still appreciate the beauty and nostalgia of the original trend setters, Currier and Ives.
