Vintage Pastel Christmas
I’ve been inspired by pastel colors lately and learned that they were popular colors for Christmas decorating in the 1950s. Pink, turquoise, mint green, and pale yellow were especially prominent. The pastel Christmas colors remind me of my grandmother who was a big lover of pink. Even though she had a gold tree when I was growing up, I think she would have really loved holiday decorating with these colors! A vintage pastel Christmas is a great alternative to the traditional red and green decorating.
Holiday decorations in these colors were originally purchased at Five and dime stores as well as Macy’s and Gimbel’s. Today you can still find vintage pastel decorations on Ebay and Etsy if you are looking for something similar. These colors are especially found in glass balls to be hang on the tree.
