One of my goals over the Christmas holidays was to frame the giclées of my grandmothers that you can see hanging in my dining room. My sister painted them in oil a couple of years ago, but we had to wait for them to dry before framing them. Because my parents have the originals, I had them scanned and converted into giclées for my brother and sisters. The giclées are reproductions printed on canvas that look almost identical to the originals–I’m so happy with how they turned out!
Aside from my mother, these two women were the most influential women in my life growing up, and I love seeing their faces everyday. And since my farmhouse is almost 100 years old, it seems fitting to hang ancestral portraits in it!
Congratulations to Alice Walker of Grand Rapids, Michigan who won a free copy of my book!
