Since Valentine’s Day is on a Tuesday this year, a lot of people will be celebrating on the weekend. Not everyone chooses to go out to eat for the holiday, however. If money’s tight, or you just don’t want to fight the crowds, have a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner at home!
Romantic Valentine’s Day Dinner at Home
Even if you don’t have a lot of money to spend, you can still make it nice for both of you. Pull out your prettiest linens, dishes, candlesticks, and silverware. You know the ones you got from your wedding that you’ve never used? The ones you’ve been saving for a special occasion? Well, Valentine’s day is that special occasion! You can also pick up a bouquet of flowers from your local market. If you don’t want to use the traditional red roses, there are all kinds of beautiful flowers to choose from. What flowers did you have at your wedding or other special occasion? Use things that relate to both of you!
Make your favorite dinner together and enjoy a quiet romantic candle-lit dinner for just the two of you! You can even dress up if you want to really make it a special occasion…
If you are looking for a fun dinner idea, Andy and I like to make two courses of fondue at home. The Alpine cheese fondue recipe is our favorite from The Melting Pot. The dark chocolate fondue recipe we found online, but it’s very similar to the one we love at The Melting Pot as well. They are both heavenly, and we look forward to having them every year. I’m sharing the recipes below (just scroll to the bottom of the post).
I would love to hear about how you are celebrating Valentine’s Day!
