Mini Tabletop Gardens

Mini Tabletop Gardens

I remember being in elementary school and given a little seedling to take home and grow.  I have no idea what the plant was, but I remember being so excited when it grew!  Gardening must have that affect on people because it’s so rewarding and addicting.  It’s that time of year when everyone starts planning their Summer garden.  Even though it’s still a little early, that doesn’t mean you can’t get an early start.  You can create a mini tabletop garden to get you by until its time to plant your garden.

Cloches

Cloches can be used to create mini tabletop gardens.  They were originally used by the French to protect seedlings in gardens when the weather got cold.  Now they’re more decorative, but cloches can still be used in homes to act like greenhouses.  If you don’t want to use glass cloches, you can use wire ones to display a favorite plant or flower.  The great thing about cloches is they create a fun seasonal focal point for your table.  If you’re looking for other ideas to put in your cloche, you can also use birds’ nests, ceramic rabbits (for Easter) or any kind of display you want.
