Memorial Day Celebration
Memorial Day is the American holiday to honor and remember those service men and women who lost their lives fighting for this great country. It’s also the unofficial kickoff to the Summer season which means barbecues, swimming, camping, and boating! A lot of families combine the two occasions by decorating graves with wreaths or attending parades in the morning. Then later in the afternoon, they have cookouts. No matter how you celebrate, a Memorial Day Celebration is about being patriotic and decorating with red, white, and blue!
Red, White, and Blue
Decorating for Memorial Day is very similar to decorating for the Fourth of July. The holiday is a military one and captures the spirit of patriotism. Using any kind of decorations in the color palette of red, white, and blue is ideal. For my tablescape, I used a red gingham tablecloth (that I will be using a lot this Summer); blue and white dishes; and American flags, of course!
Who’s ready for Summer?!?!
I would love to know what you’re doing for the Memorial Day weekend!
