A Day Of Renewal
My family and I took a day trip and went to Sundance, Utah to hike Stewart Falls. I can honestly say that it was very therapeutic, and I’m so glad I went! If you know anything about me, you know I’m a workaholic. It’s really hard for me to do something fun when I know I should be working. Whenever I take any of those personality assessments, I always get things like “achiever” as my top characteristic. I only share that with you so you know I feel guilty if I’m not crossing a bunch of things off my “to-do” list. Anyway, my sister is in town for the Summer from Indianana and has been trying to get me to go on hikes with her, but I keep turning her down because of work. Since she’s about to go back home, I finally gave in and went to Sundance with her. I’m so glad I did because it was a day of renewal, and we all need those!
Just Let Go
We all need breaks from our daily lives, routines, schedules, and especially social media. I’m the first to admit an addiction to social media, but sometimes it’s nice to just shut it off for a while. I know someone who’s running a business like I am, and she made the decision to go social media free. I admire her for her decision and sometimes wish I could do the same. Just having a break from everything is nice, however. Do any of you feel the same way? I’d love to know your thoughts. As we were hiking, I could just feel all the stress, worry, and problems that have been weighing me down melt away. Being active outside sure helps put things in perspective, and I’m grateful my sister asked me to go with her.
Have you ever been on this hike before? Stewart Falls is one of the most beautiful and scenic waterfalls in northern Utah! The trail is about 3.5 miles long and is a moderate hike once you take the ski lift to the trail. The hike consists mostly of going through forest on one side of Mt. Timpanogas. It’s definitely worth going there if you visit or live in northern Utah. My favorite part is smelling and seeing all the wildflowers, milkweed, and thistles. I’m giving you fair warning–there are lots of stinging nettles, so be careful! If you can, pack a lunch because there are a few picnic tables on the hike overlooking the falls where you can eat. Here are some of my pictures from my day at Sundance:
