“The last fruit of Summer gardens;
A lantern to guide in the night.”–Unknown
When I was growing up, my family celebrated Halloween in a BIG way! One of the favorite things my parents did was create pumpkin ghosts in our yard. My dad used a 2×4 for the post and placed a wood bar across it for the arms. He then built a base for a pumpkin head to sit on after a sheet was draped over the whole thing. I loved the pumpkin ghosts! They’re one of my favorite childhood Halloween decorations to this day. Andy built something similar last year for our yard. Ours was based on The Legend of Sleepy Hollow movie and looks a little scarier. Ever since childhood when I was influenced by that decoration, I’ve loved everything pumpkin!
Some Of My Favorites
I’ve been looking for ways to add more pumpkin decor to our home (other than the usual pumpkin spice candle). There are some really cute decorations out there right now! I’ve compiled some of my favorites in case you’re looking for something similar. I’m also sharing the original inspiration for this post with the pictures below. Are you as excited about October and pumpkin season as I am?
