Be Grateful For The Journey
I’ve really been struggling with something for quite a while. I don’t normally post about such difficult and soul-revealing problems, but I realized others might benefit by this as well. Have you ever had a problem that just feels like it’s eating away at you? Something that won’t go away and no matter what you do, you can’t seem to conquer it? I read a quote the other day about being grateful for the journey, and as hard as it is to accept, I know it’s true.
I know someday I’ll be able to look back and realize that I’m a stronger person because of it, but right now I don’t feel that way. Without going into unnecessary detail, I’ll just say that I’ve really been trying to make something work in my life. Something I want so badly that I’ve sacrificed and worked nonstop for a long time to make it happen, and it hasn’t worked. I’ve had so many people tell me to just give up, that it’s not worth it. And you know what? They’re right, and it would be so much easier just to quit. Everyday I ask myself if what I’m doing is worth it. I just can’t seem to make myself quit, though, as much as I want to some days.
A few years ago, I completely overhauled my life. I was in a really bad place emotionally and needed to make some drastic decisions that not only affected me, but the lives of my children and family as well. It was the most difficult time of my life, and maybe someday I’ll be able to share more about it with you when the feelings aren’t so raw. The battle I’m fighting now is a continuation of my life overhaul.
Have Faith In Your Journey
I realize everyone has real-life struggles and problems, and mine aren’t unique or harder than anyone else’s. I recently did a blog post asking my Facebook friends about the best thing in their life right now. Some comments were the usual everyday ones, but some of them were absolutely heartbreaking saying they were just glad to be alive because they were going through life-threatening illnesses. We all struggle with problems in life. I have a feeling mine is going to be around for awhile, but I take comfort in this quote and hope you can too with whatever you’re struggling with: “Have faith in your journey. Everything had to happen exactly as it did to get you where you’re going next.” –Mandy Hale
