Bounty of Thanksgiving
The countdown to Thanksgiving is on! Can you believe it?!? Since the Thanksgiving holiday is all about abundance, I wanted to create a holiday tablescape that reflected the bounty of Thanksgiving. Even though the purpose of the holiday has shifted somewhat from the original day of thanks, it’s still a day to celebrate all the blessings in our lives. For this tablescape, I had two goals. The first is that I wanted to create a centerpiece that represented the abundance of fruits and vegetables available this time of year. I also wanted to capture all the beautiful jewel tones of this rich Autumn season.
I used a variety of fruits and vegetables including pumpkin, persimmon, pear, grapes, and some eucalyptus leaves and placed them in a white serving tray. I really wanted the centerpiece to mimic the look of a cornucopia, but I wanted it more spread out than just focused in just the center. My favorite way to decorate is using what’s in season and found locally. It’s really easy to recreate if you’re looking for similar ideas! And don’t forget about the Thanksgiving Centerpiece Challenge tomorrow! The most creative display could win a set of Christmas dish towels!

There are still a few copies available if you’d like one. And don’t forget about the holidays just around the corner! The December issue of Wilma Magazine goes out December 1st! There are print and digital subscriptions available, and you can find more information here.
