“We can live closer to our dreams if we are willing to dream them.”–Alexandra Stoddard
When Your Path Is Unclear
Lately as I’ve been making some major decisions in both my personal and professional life, I’ve been thinking a lot about the path I’ve taken. I know when I was my girls’ age, I completely envisioned my life going in a different direction than it has. That’s not always a bad thing, though. Sometimes our choices in life take us in a direction that’s better for us, even if we never planned it that way. Often when your path is unclear, sometimes you just have to take a leap.
Make The Leap
I know when I started Creating Home, it was a big step for me because I never did anything like it before. Originally it was a blog that documented my experiences going through design school. That blog evolved to a business that sells a monthly homemaking magazine, digital publications, and now home decor products. The funny thing is that I never intentionally set out to do that. Had I not continued to try new things and take chances as the opportunities presented themselves, Creating Home wouldn’t be where it is today. As Amy Voskamp said, ” “Sometimes you don’t know when you’re taking the first step through a door until you’re already inside.”
The Path Appears
How many of you have ever been paralyzed by indecision, not knowing which choice to make? I recently read a quote by Martin Luther King Jr. that says, “Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” In other words, sometimes the path only appears as we go. If you’re ever unsure of a decision, sometimes you just have to take a leap and decide to know whether it’s right or wrong. I’d love to hear about some of the choices you’ve made that have unexpectedly changed your life!
