Truffles are some of my favorite Christmas candies, and this recipe for holiday truffles has a hint of orange flavoring making them rich and flavorable. Whether you make them to give to your neighbors or to keep for yourself, you’re going to love them so much that you’ll make them year after year! They can easily be transported in a white bakery box or displayed on a platter for your holiday party.
1/3 C Heavy cream
1/4 C Butter
1 6 Oz. Pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 Tbsp Grated orange peel
Stir cream, butter, and chocolate in a double boiler until chocolate is melted. Remove from heat and add orange extract. Pour mixture into shallow baking pan and refrigerate at least an hour until firm enough to shape. Slightly wet your fingers and put some cocoa powder on them. Scoop chocolate out into balls, shaping them with your cocoa-dusted hands and roll them in the dipping of your choice.
Potential dippings include ground nuts (almond, pistachio, or walnuts), unsweetened cocoa powder (we like Special Dark), or powdered sugar.
