After The Holiday Decorations Come Down

After the holiday decorations come down, it’s always a little bare at first.  There’s a part of me that wants to leave the decorations up for as long as possible to prolong that Christmas magic, but after a while the decorations start to look sad and it’s time to come down.  Once you get past the initial shock, there’s something very satisfying about putting your house back in order.  It’s also a great time to evaluate the decor you have and decide if you really like it or not.

To Keep Or Not To Keep

As I’m putting things away, I find myself organizing and going through things.  I start to ask myself if I really love what I’m storing, and if I don’t, it’s a good time to get rid of it.  Think of it as starting Spring cleaning a little early.  Even if you don’t go through everything, it’s still a start!  January is always a good time to de-clutter and give your home a little refresh!  If you missed my earlier posts on de-cluttering, you can find them here and here for some helpful tips.  Finally, don’t miss out on Creating Home’s helpful planner and Interior Design Guidebook to get you and your home off to a fresh start in January!

Have a great day!
