Over the Christmas break, I went up to Mueller Park and went on a little hike by myself. There wasn’t anyone around, and it was eerily quiet and peaceful. Snow had fallen a few days earlier, so everything was covered in white. Have you ever been outside at times like that when everything around you is sleeping and still? I wanted to spend a little time by myself out in nature to plan the new year, and that feeling of being utterly alone helps put things into perspective. January is the perfect time for introspection and new beginnings.
Plan Your Life
Since today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, it’s the perfect time to focus on all your hopes and dreams. I love the quote by Josie Cluney that says, “Each day is a new day, a new opportunity to work towards making your life the way you want it.” I hope you’ve had a chance to think about your life and where you want it to go this year. Even looking beyond New Year’s Resolutions, planning your life is a way to think ahead to where you want to be years from now and map out how to get there. I talk about this more in the feature article of Wilma Magazine’s January issue. If you haven’t had a chance to subscribe yet, you can do it here. You can also get the January issue here. You’ll be really glad you did.
