A Few Good Men
I’ve been fortunate in my life to be surrounded by a few good men, from my own Dad, to my grandfathers, and to other male family members. What I’ve noticed about all of them is their dedication and love for their families and communities. In a society that tends to denigrate men, I think it’s important to respect, honor, and acknowledge their commitment and dedication. I know I wouldn’t be the person I am today without their positive male influence in my life.
Positive Male Role Models
It’s not only the familial bond I’m grateful for, but other positive male role models as well. I know I’ve mentioned this before, but Andy has been such a huge influence in the lives of my girls. I know it’s not easy stepping into an already-formed family, but he’s done it without complaint and been such a great father to all of them. One thing I especially love about Andy is his indifference to the term “father” or “stepfather.” To him, the roles are the same and there is no difference.
As you know, this week was Valentine’s Day so Andy had to squeeze in a date with everyone. Not only did he take me out to celebrate, but he also took each of the girls individually out to celebrate as well. That included driving north to Logan to take Emily out – just so he could take her a heart-shaped box of chocolates. Next week when he’s in Elko, he’ll do the same for the kids there. His love and dedication are so appreciated, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have him in my life! I hope you had a great Valentine’s Day full of love!
Have a great day!
Thanks for stopping by!
