Life Lessons I Learned From My Dog
Everyday I take Aries, our Siberian Husky, out on a walk. I mostly do it so I can break up the day and get away from my laptop since I’m on it 9-10 hours per day. But I’ve also realized it’s just as much for him as it is for me. Lately I’ve been paying more attention to him as we walk, and I’ve realized I can learn some life lessons from my dog.
Everything Is Fascinating
Even though we go on the same route almost every time, he acts like it’s the first time. He is constantly in motion wanting to sniff everything, hear everything, see everything, taste everything, and touch everything. He’s so curious and child-like in his wonder of everything, and it’s fun to watch him take everything in. What I especially love about Aries is his attitude because he doesn’t get bothered by anything. Even if dogs bark at him angrily, he just smiles and trots away happily. He’s happy just because it’s his favorite time of the day and he’s doing what he loves–exploring. Every person he encounters on the walk is there to meet him and say hi.
If only we could all go through life carefree, just smiling with our tongue hanging out!
