Bounty From Our Orchard

Bounty From Our Orchard

We planted some fruit trees last year, so this is the first year we’ve gotten bounty from our orchard.  Even though our fruit trees are small, we got a LOT of peaches this year.  In fact, we’ve been trying to think of as many ways to use peaches as we can.  Andy made some peach preserves and peach/blackberry jam (we have lots of blackberries too).  I made peach oatmeal for Sunday brunch.  We’ve also made peach bellini tea because we love Olive Garden’s version.  We might end up freezing some because we’ve run out of ideas.  What do you do with all your peaches?

A few days after Andy picked all our peaches, Aries (our Siberian husky) got into the orchard.  We have an electric fence around it to keep him out of there, but he’s never been in there before.  Andy and I had been gone all day getting firewood, so we’re not sure how long he had been in there or how he got in.  Our orchard is slightly lower than the grass, so he might have leaped into there but couldn’t find a way out until we got home.  He would have eaten a lot of our peaches, so we’re glad they had been picked by then.

If you’ve got any peach ideas, send them my way!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day!
