Embroidered Pillowcases

Embroidered Pillowcases

Now that it’s Valentine season, it’s fun to come up with little ways of introducing the holiday into home decor. I switched the pillowcases on my bed to some pink embroidered pillowcases. I have a whole collection of vintage embroidered linens that I started years ago. These happen to work great for Valentine’s Day because of the delicate pink pattern.

I use the pillowcases for display purposes only because I don’t want to ruin them. Even though they haven’t been used before, there’s some damage on some of them that I don’t want to make worse.

If you’ve got the patience and the skill, these types of pillowcases are fun to make and can be passed down as a family heirloom. If you don’t like to sew, there are some available to purchase as well. They make a lovely little touch to a bedroom.

When I first got married, my Dad gave me a blessing, and one of the things I remember from it was counsel to focus on the small things of life. To me, that means the little things in my home that make me happy. As Laura Ingalls Wilder said, “It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.”

As always, thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
