I know a lot of people who say they love chocolate, but I think I take it to the extreme. My love affair with chocolate began when I was a child. Every Christmas morning, the first thing I would do is go straight to my Christmas stocking to open the Hershey kiss candy cane before I ever even looked at a present.
Growing up, on special occasions my parents would buy an expensive box of Godiva chocolates and give each of us one a day (there were seven in my family so we had to ration them). When they weren’t looking, I’d sneak more. I’m sad to say that I haven’t grown out of my behavior. I still have some sort of chocolate after every meal, and the only desserts I really eat have to have chocolate in them or I won’t bother with them (much to the annoyance of my family).
This recipe for molten chocolate cakes is one of my favorites. It’s usually one that I make when I’m having company and don’t have a lot of time to prepare. They’re fast, pretty, delicious, and perfect for Valentine’s Day! And in the immortal words of Charles Schulz, “All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.”
Finally, if you haven’t tried my recipe for malted hot cocoa for Valentine’s Day, you need to!
As always, thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
