Weekly Menu Everyone has busy lives with active families.  One way I’ve found that’s easier to help my home run more smoothly is  by having weekly family meetings.  Every Sunday morning we sit down and talk about everyone’s plan for the week including work schedules and activities (very important when you have teenage children).  From those planning meetings we decide on the weekly menu and figure out the grocery list.  If everyone participates in the discussion of what we’ll be eating, it’s harder for them to complain later that they…

Sewing Bee

Sewing Bee Have you ever heard of a sewing bee?  It’s when a group of women gather together to sew.  I’ve never participated in an official “sewing bee,” but I’ve sewed with my mom before.  One of my favorite activities now is for my girls and me to do needlework in the evenings while we watch TV.  I know these activities are fleeting since they are both growing up and becoming adults, but I cherish the times we do have for activities like this.
