How To Make Garden Signs

At the beginning of Summer, I did a blog post about making some garden signs that you can read here.  I was inspired by the above image, and Andy and I created some of our own that you can see below.  We used bamboo sticks for the sign post, and thin wood for the signs.  I originally tried painting the text, but that got too messy, so  I ended up using a black sharpie to write the names of the produce.  It gives a more casual look to the signs.  Twine and wood glue was used to secure the sign to the post.  The signs measured about 20,” but you can do them between 12-24″ (depending on how tall you want them).
