Life Is In The Living
One of my goals for this year is to read more. It’s hard to find time to read, but I decided if I could set aside even 20-30 minutes a day over lunch, it’s a start. Normally I’d waste that time by aimlessly scrolling through the Internet, so I’ve substituted that activity with reading, and it’s been so refreshing and rewarding! Lately, I’ve been reading one of Dale Carnegie’s books and something jumped out at me that I haven’t forgotten: “Life is in the living.”
If Today Were Your Last Day
How many of us dwell too much on the past or worry about the future? I know I’m very guilty of that and forget to really live in the present. Every day is a new life–I love that! We should live each day like it’s going to be our last so we can pack in as much as we can without worrying about anything else. I’m definitely going to try it! No more focusing on failures in the past or obsessing over what I want the future to look like if it’s going to ruin today. Life is made up a series of todays, so if all your todays are spoiled by the past or the future, your life isn’t going to be very good.
If you’re looking for book recommendations, I’m sharing what I’ve read so far in 2018. I love every one of them and would recommend them. If you have any you’d like to share, I’d love to hear about them!
