A New Lifestyle
Last weekend, Andy and I met with a realtor to look at some cabins and property that we’re interested in. I recently posted about a gated area near Strawberry Reservoir that we like the look of. Well, we finally got back there. Both cabins were built as vacation homes, meaning they would both need work to make them livable year-round. One of them might have a well, but the other one only has a small water storage tank, and neither one of them has any closet or storage space. Because we want the cabin to be our permanent home, we might have to build to get exactly what we want, but even then it’s going to be a new lifestyle change for us.
I know what we’re choosing to do isn’t for everyone. Basically, we want to live up in the mountains year-round. Some of the locations we’ve been looking at are accessible by snowmobile only (I know–scary)! But it’s what we’ve both wanted to do for awhile. If we can make this happen, we’ll definitely have to prepare. No more trips to the grocery store because we’re out of milk–we’ll have to have a large food and water supply available at all times.
We’re only at the beginning of the process, but we’re trying to learn as much as we can ahead of time so we make the correct choices. Our realtor from High Country Properties has suggested a new area for us to look at (Tollgate Canyon). If any of you have any experience with this kind of lifestyle or recommended areas, I’d love to hear about it!
As always, thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
