Picnics have a special meaning for Andy and me because they’re one of our first memories together as a couple. Since that first time, we’ve had all kinds of picnics including outdoor picnics, bed picnics, carpet picnics, and even living room picnics.
One of the first trips that Andy and I took together was to Yellowstone National Park. We stayed at the Snake River Lodge and Spa and made wonderful memories there. One of the days of our trip, we decided to see the entire Park in one day.
We started at the South Entrance of Yellowstone and made the entire loop. It took us twelve hours, and by the time we got back to the Lodge, we were too tired to go and eat at a restaurant. Because it was so late and we were hungry, we ordered room service and had a bed picnic from whatever we could order at that late hour.
Since then, we’ve continued the tradition. With Winter now here, we have living room picnics. As I’ve mentioned before, the rooms of our old farmhouse are fairly cold except the living room. Since that room is the warmest of our house, we usually eat dinner there.
Sometimes that consists of us eating on the sofa in front of the TV, but for special occasions like Valentine’s Day, there’s a little more preparation involved. If you have to sit on the floor like we do, pillows make it a lot more comfortable. For this particular dinner, I covered our coffee table with a white tablecloth and pulled out some dishes with a softer color palette. Candlelight and firelight make it especially romantic.
What are your favorite kinds of picnics?
Until next time, have a great day!
Thanks for stopping by!
