One way I like to start a new year is by looking back at the previous year and identifying all the good and bad things that happened. I learned about this method of highs and lows from a mentor. Basically, you take an analytical look at the past year and make a list of one high and one low from each month so you can get an overall snapshot of the year. Looking back at 2018 was helpful because I learned that along with the bad, there’s always good.
Sometimes it might seem like there are more lows than highs, but when you do this, it’s really helpful to see that there are just as many highs as lows. I like the quote that says, “Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day.” You can use this method every day, every week, every month, or every year. Have you ever done this before? It’s really helpful!
