Have you ever stumbled across a recipe and feel like you’ve hit the jackpot? There are two recipes in my personal collection that I feel that way about. The first is my Valentine sugar cookies recipe, and the other is my cinnamon rolls recipe. I didn’t invent either of them; they were just passed along to me at some point in my life, but I cherish them.
Anytime I’ve made either of these recipes for family and friends, it never fails that I’m always asked for the recipe – they’re that good! What makes them so yummy is the fact that there’s a hint of almond extract in the recipe, and the dough is rolled out with powder sugar and not flour. Or as Marie Barone says, “they’re made with love!”
I make this recipe every holiday because they’re Andy’s favorite. The neon pink cream cheese frosting makes them especially fun for Valentine’s Day. I like them best when they’re slightly underdone and soft. You can see how I displayed the sugar cookies in my pink and red vignette here.
As always, thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
