Isn’t it always true that when you really get interested in a subject, all you want to do is learn more about it? I’ve been collecting vintage Homemaking manuals for the past few years and get so excited when I find a new one! They’re so fascinating to read, and they make me appreciate the modern conveniences we have that make homemaking so much easier today. Because of my love for these vintage manuals and the fact that they’re so hard to find, I display them in my home like they’re treasures.
I guess I follow the maxim, “Collect things that you love, that are authentic to you, and your house becomes your story.” ~~Erin Flett. Whenever I look around my home with a critical eye, I try and imagine what people would say is my story from the way I decorate. I would hope they would say I have a love of the home arts; an appreciation for beauty and culture; and a wholesome vintage aesthetic!
If somebody stopped by your home today, what would they lean about you? Does your home accurately tell your story? What do you collect, and how do you display it?
As always, thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
