Good morning from the mountains of Utah! We’re still in transition right now but survived moving day one. On Saturday, we came up to the rental cabin to get the key that the previous renter left. We were sad to discover that the cabin was filthy and would have to be cleaned before we could live here. Moving is always an adventure, and this one was no exception.
On Sunday, our neighbor in Bountiful helped Andy load all the heavy furniture. When we got up to the mountain, one of our new neighbors helped us unload. We’ve got the six pieces of furniture that we own up here, so we’re feeling good! We’ll be going back and forth over the next week to get the rest of our stuff. I made the incorrect decision to wash all our bedding in the Bountiful house the first day we moved. Because I was in a hurry, I made the load too big and the washing machine got unbalanced. I had to bring a laundry basket with soaking wet bedding to the rental cabin. By the time it all got dried, it was after 11 before we could collapse into bed!
We’ve also got a mice problem. There was a dead mouse when we were moving in, and that first night we caught another one. Andy plugged up all the holes where they were getting in. We also bought some peppermint oil to use. Eventually we’ll get everything figured out. In the meantime, I’m so grateful for Andy and his handiness! We brought up our Russian Blue cat, Sochi, up to the cabin so she can help out. She definitely didn’t like the drive up here because she cried the whole time and threw up. Andy and I are trying our best to make this a home for our little family, regardless of how long we’ll be living here. I’m sure Aries and Sochi are very confused about what’s going on, but they’re both really good pets.
The first night we slept in the cabin, there was a mountain storm outside our window that was so fun to watch. We’re sleeping with the windows open, so we’re really enjoying it. Last night, the moon was shining right into our window as we went to bed. We love being in the mountains and surrounded by nature.
As always, thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
