It’s our favorite time of year, and also our busiest! Aside from getting ready for Winter, there’s always so many fun activities to do in October. I thought I would share some Hallowe’en fun in the Salt Lake Valley that we’ve been doing! We kick off the Hallowe’en season each year by going to Oktoberfest in Snowbird.
It usually starts at the end of Summer and goes to mid-October. We’ve gone every year and just love it. One year we even took the Gondola up to the top of the mountain to see the Alpenhorns. The festival always reminds us of our trip to Switzerland a few years ago. I’m not a beer drinker, but Andy is. Not only do they have local brews from the Wasatch Mountains, but this year, they started importing German beers. I love to go for the atmosphere and food, but this year they ran out of beer cheese soup before I could get any. Luckily, Andy found a recipe online and made some at home for us!
Frightmares at Lagoon is something else we never miss. Our local amusement park has five haunted houses within the park. We have season passes, but this year the lines for the individual haunted house averaged over 90 minutes each, so we purchased fast passes to avoid the lines. We made it through all five haunted houses in a little over an hour–it was so fun! We still have our two favorite haunted houses to go to this year–Nightmare on 13th and Fear Factory in Salt Lake. We’ll squeeze them in before the end of the month. Can you tell how much we love October??
How about you? What types of Hallowe’en activities does your local community have?
Until next time,
Thanks for stopping by!
