Happy October!! Autumn is in full-swing up here in the mountains of Utah! I finally got around to making a nature-inspired Autumn wreath for the front door. Because this little rental cabin doesn’t have a covered porch, I realized the wreath was going to be at the mercy of the elements. I wanted to add a ribbon and a single chime candle, but the wind, rain, and even snow kept battering it. Rather than risk anything getting ruined, I decided to just use a simple grapevine wreath with gathered fallen leaves. Sometimes you just have to work with what you’ve been given!
I wanted to mimic the colors I see everyday outside my window and door. I’ve been so inspired by the GORGEOUS colorful leaves that are changing, that I wanted to use whatever I could find in the yard. Even if the wind blows all the leaves off, there are plenty more that can be added. I always think wreaths add such a nice homey touch. To me, they’re very welcoming and signify that a home is well-cared for.

We like to take daily drives and walks up here on the mountains because everything changes so quickly. There are some parts that are already past their peak, and some parts that are just starting. Everyday on our walk, we pass a dead tree where all these vultures hang out. Sometimes they fly around circling the tree, and other times they just sit there…it’s definitely creepy and fun to see this time of year!
How are you enjoying Autumn so far?
Until next time, thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
