As I’m typing this, I’m looking out my window watching the snow fall. I’ve got a candle lit on my desk and a fire in the wood burning stove. There’s a couple of blue jays that live in some pine trees in our back yard that keep swooping in and out. It’s very peaceful and quiet, and that’s just the way I like it. I wanted to share the view from my desk because it’s so pretty! Mountain life is just as beautiful now as it was in August when we moved in.
After getting stuck on Monday, I actually conquered my fears and drove down to the mailbox. It’s been snowing the last couple of days so I was worried about the roads. Even though Andy’s out of town, I texted him to see if he thought the roads would be ok to go. There’s a Facebook Page specifically for the road conditions in Tollgate Canyon. Since they didn’t mention anything, he thought I would be fine to go. A lot of the snow didn’t stick to the roads, so it was mostly just muddy. Aries went with me, and since he always wants the window down, his face was splattered with mud by the time we got back. I should have gotten a picture of that.
The top part of the mountains was actually socked in with clouds, and the bottom portion was completely clear. I took a video of the upper portion in the clouds because I love the moodiness. Word of warning: it’s better to watch the video without volume turned down because it’s kind of noisy.
As always, thanks for stopping by!
Have a great weekend!
