Andy and I are constantly amazed by the people we meet up here in Tollgate Canyon. The other day, someone posted in the Facebook group that he’s the brewmaster for Wasatch Brew & Pub in Park City and had whiskey barrels to give away. He said he could only use them a couple of times and needed the space to get new ones.
I asked him if we could have four of them because I want them for planters at our new house and they’re so expensive to buy! He had no problem giving them to us and even brought them out on a forklift to put in the truck. He gave Andy a sample of the beer that was in the whiskey barrels and also gave him some cans to take home. The beer that’s in the barrels is a Belgian style dark strong ale that’s aged in port wine barrels. Andy loved it and was so happy to get it.
The barrels will have to be aired out and dried because right now they smell like stale beer. They should be ready to go by the time our house is done, though. We’re very excited! People up here are so nice, friendly, and generous. Everyone we’ve met goes out of their way to help each other. We feel so blessed to have moved here.
Until next time, thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
