Winter Wonderland In The Mountains

Winter Wonderland

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, we got about 3 feet of snow.  We came back a little early from Manti because we were worried about the weather.  It’s a beautiful Winter wonderland in the mountains!  Andy used his tractor twice in two days to clear the driveway and help the neighbors out.  We were a little hesitant about purchasing the tractor because it was so expensive, but it’s going to make our lives so much easier up here!  Snow accumulation can add up quickly, and a typical snow blower and shovel just can’t keep up sometimes .

Just trying to remove a foot of snow on the decks was tough for me.  I’m sure by the end of Winter, those muscles will have developed, but right now I’m not used to it.  Because of wind drifts, the snow is so deep in places!  I wanted to get some pine boughs for our table since we won’t have a Christmas tree this year.  Andy and I walked to where the pine trees were, and it was up past my knees!  I’ve never walked in snow so deep before.

Now that Winter has definitely settled in, this will be the new normal for the next several months.  It couldn’t be any prettier!
