It’s been a few weeks since I published a blog post, so it feels very strange getting back into my routine! Like some of you, I took a couple weeks off for the holiday break. I did a little bit of work, but mostly I was pretty lazy. Half the time I didn’t even know what day it was because I wasn’t following my traditional work schedule.
I learned that when your days consist of nothing but eating, cross-stitching, binge-watching movies, and even more eating, it doesn’t really matter what day it is. I made a batch of Babe Ruth bars (similar to the candy bar, but WAY better) before Christmas, and spent the next week eating them three times a day (following breakfast, lunch, and dinner). As delicious as they are, I’m glad they are finally gone so I don’t have to keep eating them. A 9×13 pan of dessert is just way too much for two people to eat!
Aside from that, there were also some quiet moments over the break that I particularly welcomed. I was able to do a lot of thinking about 2020 and the future in general. My life has changed so much in the last few months, and I know it will change even more going forward. Somebody recently made the comment to me that I’m reinventing my life just as Thoreau did when he moved to Walden pond. I love that thought and am so excited about the future and the upcoming year. I love our new life and lifestyle in the mountains and am so glad we made the jump!
There are so many things to look forward to in 2020 including the building of Axeholme; the launch of Birdie’s Apothecary; the second edition of Birdie’s Halloween; and so much more. Thank you for continuing on this journey with me. I hope you had a great holiday break!
As always, thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
