Happy Valentine’s Day, my friends! I hope you have a wonderful day filled with love! Andy got back from Elko about 11 last night and brought me a box of chocolate covered strawberries. It was so sweet because he knows how much I love them! His thoughtful and touching gift was definitely a nice ending to a challenging week.
I’ve been thinking a lot about love lately and the many different kinds. My sister-in-law’s sister passed away this week, and it’s been so hard watching her and her family struggle and grieve over the loss of a loved one. Words can’t ever adequately convey the sympathy and helplessness you feel when something like this happens. In the end, you realize that all these feelings exist because of the love that was shared.
When I was taking care of a sick dog this week and driving him to the doctor appointment, it brought back all kinds of memories of taking my children to the doctor when they were sick growing up. I’m now at a different phase of life as an empty nester, but it’s still a good feeling to love and care for someone who needs it.
I love the movie, The Village, and one of the underlying themes of the movie is love. There’s one scene where William Hurt is agonizing over a tough decision and says, “The world moves for love. It kneels before it in awe.” That quote has always stuck with me, and I have it written down in several places. Every time I hear those words or watch that scene again, I’m reminded how love is the most important thing in the world. It doesn’t matter what type of love it is–love makes everything bearable and worthwhile.
Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
As always, thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
